Notch

Notch is the 3D motion graphics tool used for the biggest names in music, from Beyoncé to BTS. With a new version of the software, it was time to shift perceptions, from expert-only kit to a mass-market motion engine. We built a design language and digital experience to showcase the awesome power of Notch and its ability to unlock limitless creativity for anyone.

Notch’s real-time rendering has powered awe-inspiring live shows for the world’s biggest musicians, but with its latest software release, it is set to revolutionise film, TV, and virtual production. Its signature node graph creator makes crafting breathtaking visuals simpler than ever. It empowers anyone, regardless of experience, to unleash their creativity without limits.

 
 
 


 

The brand language embodies Notch’s boundless punk spirit and creative flow, constantly shifting, springing, expanding, and contracting with purposeful energy.

 

Vibrant colours command attention, while dynamic typography creates tension and stored potential. This system invites users to harness and release their creativity, capturing the excitement of working with Notch.

The design language is inspired by the unique feel of Notch’s Node Graph Visualiser, the tool that drives its creative process. This interface defined a precise language, shaping every level of the experience.

From bold, expressive layouts to the smallest buttons, tabs, and labels, every detail is considered. Combining technical precision with intuitive design, it delivers a system that feels unapologetically and unmistakably Notch.

 
 


 
 

The Notch digital experience had to match the excitement of creating on the platform. Feature pages show how simple it is for users to ‘make anything’ and #MadeWithNotch shows off the wealth of work created by the community, while industry use cases communicate the commercial potential of the product for different sectors.
